Rose Bazile is a nurse with over thirty years’ experience.  She is a certified maternal & child health nurse with specialties in neonatal and pediatric intensive care, life support and resuscitation.  She is a French/Creole medical interpreter.

Rose Bazile is currently a nursing instructor at Helene Fuld College of Nursing and at Adelphi University. Previously she held such positions at St Paul’s School of Nursing and Molloy College. She has worked at St John’s Episcopal Medical Center as a nurse leader and at Brookdale Hospital as a nurse educator.  

 

She has worked at Brooklyn Hospital as a staff nurse since 1989 and previously held other nursing positions in Florida. She obtained a BSN from SUNY Downstate School of Nursing in 1986, and an MSN in leadership/education from Regis University in 2008. She has participated in training/workshops and has received several awards.  She was a school teacher in Port-au-Prince before coming to the USA in 1979.

Rose Bazile is the founder and chairs the board of KDCK (Konbit pou Developman Commune Kot de Fer), which is registered as a nonprofit in Haiti and as a 501c3 charity in the USA.  She is also the Haiti Representative of Solar Ovens Society, now Solavore LLC, since 2011. 

 

She was born and raised in Cotes de Fer, and is active in the Haitian diaspora organizations of New York.  She has been engaged in sustainable development work in Haiti since 1998.

She has served as treasurer of Federation pour Development du Sud-Est (FEDADSE), member of Association de Cotes de Fer and member at large of HTARG (Haitian hometown association).

 

Through KDCK she initiated the irrigation canal of Lasous Bas and the elementary school of Lasous Haute.  She has provided teacher training in collaboration with College Savoir Vivre and has undertaken several medical missions to her home town.
